Our 2024 Summer Camp was a Success

Our first annual week-long summer camp from July 15th to the 19th was an incredible success. The campers had a blast exploring how math and science come alive in the real world, and couldn’t have had a better group teaching them than our amazing volunteers from NEOMED, UAkron and KSU. The kids suited up in lab coats and got to work as budding scientists, measuring test tubes, learning about density, and seeing how these concepts are used every day.

A real highlight was our field trip to the Bridgestone Tech Center in Akron. What made that visit even more special was hearing from the Latino professionals at Bridgestone. Their stories really resonated, showing the campers that they too can succeed in STEM fields.

This camp wasn’t just about fun—it sparked curiosity and opened doors to new possibilities. But we can’t do it alone. A shout out to Lydondellbasell and Akron Community Foundation for their support. We want to continue this annually. By donating to Proyecto RAICES, you’ll help us expand programs like this and reach even more young minds. Your support can make a real difference in shaping their future.
