At Proyecto RAICES, we believe strongly in the opportunities that careers in STEM have for our children, and are also aware of the need for diversity in these fields. We contribute to both of these goals, by engaging children in age-appropriate projects related to science, technology, engineering and math, and guiding them in a process of discovery.
Through experiments, construction, robotics, and problem-solving, children are guided through exploration and are encouraged to challenge the boundaries of their imagination.
Proyecto RAICES family is grateful for the dedication of STEM Director, Dr. Joanne Caniglia, and the many partners who contribute to creating these experiences for the children. We are grateful to donors such as Paragon TEC and its NASA grant, the Akron Community Foundation, Kent State University, and the many professors and volunteers who devote their time and efforts to the success of our children.
The robotics group “The Invincible Dreamers” won the Judge’s Award in their first competition in the Seton Catholic School on December 7, 2014.
