Proyecto Raíces is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2027 Community Impact Award — an annual recognition honoring individuals whose leadership, service, and accomplishments have made a meaningful and positive difference in the Hispanic/Latino community of Greater Akron.
Each year, this award celebrates those who uplift our community through advocacy, cultural preservation, education, mentorship, and dedicated service. Whether their impact is felt through professional work, volunteerism, or grassroots efforts, these individuals help strengthen the roots — las raíces — that support our families and future generations.
Who Can Be Nominated
We welcome nominations for individuals who:
- Identify as Hispanic/Latino
- Have made significant contributions to the Greater Akron Hispanic/Latino community
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Are not current Proyecto Raíces employees or sitting Board members
Nominations may be submitted by individuals, organizations, businesses, or community partners. Self‑nominations are also welcome.

The form includes sections for nominee information, nominator details, and a three‑part nomination statement highlighting community impact, leadership, and service. You may also upload optional supporting materials such as letters, articles, or photos.
Deadline
Nominations are due by November 18, 2026.
Award Presentation
All selected award recipients will be honored at our annual Lotería Celebration on April 22, 2027, where we come together as a community to celebrate culture, connection, and the individuals who help our mission thrive.
